This itinerary is designed to make the most of your visit to Machu Picchu, taking advantage of every moment and ensuring a smooth experience.
DÍA 1: Traslado a Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes y Preparativos
03:30 - 04:00 AM: Pick up from your hotel in Cusco. Our driver will pick you up to transfer you to the Ollantaytambo train station. This time is early to ensure a connection with the morning trains.
06:00 - 06:30 AM (approximate): Arrival at Ollantaytambo train station. You will have time to get settled and board your train so that at 06:40 - 07:00 AM (approximate) the train will depart for Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu Pueblo.
08:00 - 08:30 AM (approximate): Arrival to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, a representative will be waiting for you at the station to assist you and guide you to the cultural office or a pre-arranged meeting point.
At the agreed time our representative will assist you and accompany you to the cultural office to purchase your entrance ticket to Machu Picchu for the following day. It is essential to have your original passport at hand.
Lunch on your own. Enjoy the local gastronomy in one of the many restaurants in Aguas Calientes. There are options for all tastes and budgets.
Afternoon: Check-in at your hotel on your own. Go to your pre-booked accommodation to leave your belongings and rest.
Evening: Free time for dinner on your own. We recommend you enjoy an early dinner and prepare for the exciting visit to Machu Picchu the next day.
DAY 2: The awaited day Inca citadel of Machu Picchu
Breakfast at your hotel early in the morning, then we will go to the bus station according to the schedule indicated on your entrance ticket to Machu Picchu, you will board one of the buses that ascend to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, the trip takes approximately 25-30 minutes by a winding road.
Guided tour of Machu Picchu: Once at the entrance of the citadel, you will present your entrance ticket and passport. You will join a group with a professional guide to explore the majestic Inca citadel. Your guide will provide you with detailed information about the history, architecture and significance of this archaeological site. The duration of the guided tour is approximately 2 hours.
Free time in Machu Picchu (after the guided tour): You will have some time to walk around on your own (within the allowed circuits and with the time limit of your ticket), take pictures and absorb the energy of the place.
Descent to Aguas Calientes: Return by bus from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes.
Lunch on your own. Enjoy a well-deserved lunch in Aguas Calientes.
Free time until the return train at night. You can take the opportunity to buy last minute souvenirs or just relax.
Return by train to Ollantaytambo/ Cusco: Board the return train in the evening. In Ollantaytambo, our transportation will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel in Cusco.
